Well, when we hit the road in '06 with our pockets full of nothing but faith, I had been thinking about all the folks who, throughout our lives, kept telling us we would never amount to anything. Then I thought about Steve Prefontaine and how short his legs were compared to those tall guys from Africa, and wondered how many people told him basically the same thing. I don't know if that's true or not but it makes for good music don't you think? Anyway I always think of him when I sing this one. Here's to you, Pre!
